Grants
ISAR-Far East continues its work through the small grants program "Support for the Grassroots Environmental Movement in the Far East".
- The program is funded by private fund of Hewlett Foundation.
- The grants program staff at ISAR-Far East manages the program.
- Program consultants in various regions of the Far East help to prepare grant applications.
- The program administration determines the financing of 1'st and 2'nd level grant projects.
- An expert board made up of leaders in the Far Eastern environmental movement determines the financing of 3'd and 4'th level grant projects.

The Living Sea Public Information Campaign
This Program is focused on getting the community (public) to take part in solving the problems of marine biological resources conservation on the Far East. The Program has been led by ISAR-FE together with the Center of the Protection of Wild Nature Zow Taigi since January 2000 with the assistance of the Coalition of Environmental Nonprofit Organizations of the Far East regions. Today 6 marine regions of the Far East are included in the Program: Primorsky krai, Khabarovsky krai, Sakhalinskaya oblast, Kamchatskaya oblast, Magadanskaya oblast and Chukotsky Autonomous Region. Financial support for the Program is provided by The Rockefeller Brothers Foundation (RBF).
Currently preparations are being made to develop successful actions for the 2'nd stage of Public Information-Educational Campaign Living Sea. These arrangements are going to be conducted during the year of 2002. They are: Public Hearings regarding Oil Projects on Sakhalin, the Competition for Methodological Materials on Living Sea, the Program of the Youth Environmental Monitoring The Summer of Living Sea, World Sea Day the 29'th of September and many others.

The ISAR Library contains more than 1500 titles of books on the following subjects: ecology, environmental education, and NGOs activities.

"Notes From the Far East"
The journal is for the 3'd(non-commercial, non-profit) sector. The main aim of the journal is information and teaching (methodological) support to NGOs of the Far East. Notes From the Far East is published every two months and distributed among NGOs of the Far East free of charge.

The leaves in palms
Since 1996 within the bounds of the Environmental Education Program ISAR-FE together with the Resourse-infomation Center on Environmental Education (Vladivostok) publishes information-teaching (information-methodological) journal to environmental education The leaves in palms. On the pages of the journal the following information is published: environmental education programs, developments of lessons, games, studies with regional filling, news, reviews of the latest publications, addresses of organizations. Readers can get to know with the most interesting teacher-ecologists experience and propose their own solution ways of the environmental education problem. 19 issues of the journal have been already published to the moment.
